Honoring Liszt

Jack Fishman – Yesterday was the anniversary of the death of pianist/composer Franz Liszt in 1886 at the age of 74. 2011 is also the 200th anniversary of the birth of Liszt, and orchestras love to commemorate that kind of milestone. The San Antonio Symphony’s 2011-2012 season includes three very well known works and one masterpiece that is played less often.
