Sr. Madlyn Pape

Sr. Madlyn Pape, CDP, a Sister of Divine Providence, entered eternal life on January 18, 2012. Sr. Madlyn was the great-aunt to CCSA Chamber Choir singer Mark Rogers, a great musician and educator in the San Antonio community, and a valiant champion of The CCSA.

Sr. Madlyn’s long and distinguished career included MM degrees from UT-Austin and Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ, teaching positions at Wadhams Hall Seminary College in Ogdensburg, NY, St. Philip’s College in San Antonio and her most-noted position as Chair of the Music Department at Our Lady of the Lake University. During her tenure at OLLU, Sr. Madlyn was the driving force behind the birth of CCSA’s Project: Sing! neighborhood choir program in 2001 and continued to carry the program forward with her creative and compassionate spirit. She also helped bring Project: Sing! into new neighborhoods in Harlandale where she was most recently serving as Assistant Director. We will miss greatly her wisdom and guidance, and her priceless good-nature and wit.
